The harvesting of this exceptional saffron takes place every year between november and december. Crocus flowers grow at 3.000 m high, on the Himalaya's slopes Pistils are manually picked, one by one in several times, to obtain the best degree of ripeness for each pistil, on which only the upper red part is kept
Avenue Safran Premium can be considered as a half-wild culture product, without any pesticides, because a part of these crocus are replanted every year in the pountain.
When the harvesting is over, pistils dry under the sun, following an ancestral technique kept secret. This drying technique is the key of the incredible taste of Avenue Safran Premium approved by the greatest chefs.
(Existing in sealed box of 1, 2, 5 or 10 grams)
Saffron is a « fragile » spice, in the way that boiling or frying of saffron's pistils will destroy a big part of its aromatics properties. To preserve all its taste, saffron's pistils have to be infused before being added in your preparation.
You need approximately 0,1 gram of saffron, for a 4 persons' meal. But, according to your taste and the type of preparation, you can vary the proportioning.
Saffron cannot take direct exhibition to the light of the sun. To preserve all its aromatic properties, keep your saffron in a dry and dark place in its original packaging.
